New artist: Scion vs. Zion

Another new singer has emerged from the throng of trainees waiting for their chance at stardom but this time uses a play on words to grab your attention.
The new singer Zion (시온, pronounced “Shi-on”), who technically debuted in April 2006 with her digital single and her little role in Jo Sung Mo’s 3rd album, officially debuted on the August 19th 2008 in Seoul.
Ironically, absolutely no record of her exists online; rather, this creation from Keum Gwa-eun and Im Yong-jae, both who were 70s singers, seems to have disappeared from the radar.
With the emergence of skinny waisted Zudy and Super Junior look-a-like SMASH and the comebacks of groups such as SeeYa, F.T. Island, and Younha, this girl needs to really start it off with a big bang to set her mark in this already too crowded industry.
And does she? Check out her showcase performance in Hongdae on August 19th 2008. Her sound is nothing unique. If anything she is straining her voice and sounding a bit screechy. Not music to my ears.
