Obama: NK Developed 8 Nukes
U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama stressed the importance of diplomatic dialogue to prevent nuclear proliferation efforts.
In an interview with U.S. broadcaster CBS on Wednesday, the Illinois senator said the North developed eight nuclear weapons during the period when Pyongyang and Washington were refusing to communicate with one another.
He said since the two sides have agreed to start talking, the possibility of dismantling the North’s nuclear weapons and programs has become a reality.
Obama, however, stopped short of identifying his source concerning the number of nuclear weapons in the North’s possession.
